Real (Human) Name: Jessica Craven
Chosen (Wyre) Name: Jai’eesh (means “Dark Angel” in Ancient)
Race: Wyre-Griffin
Sex: Female
Age: Early 60’s, but looks like she’s in her mid 20’s
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 145 lbs.
Eye Color: Hazel-brown normally, they get a yellow ring around the edge when she uses magic
Hair Color: Red-brown
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Details:
At first glance, Jai’eesh is a figgin’ psychopath. She is the leader of the Shadows of Gaia, a large alliance of Wyrecreature clans spanning the North American hemisphere of Earth Realm and pretty much dominating politics in that area of the world without the majority of humans knowing (and how do they do that? Very carefully…). Wyres normally want and have nothing to do with what they consider ‘Human problems,’ thus they’ve stayed out of the events of Mortal Kombat even though they are quite aware of it happening. However due to conspiring events, Jai’eesh has been slowly pressured to make an appearance throwing a huge wrench in the workings of almost every side of the conflict. Due to the fact she is bonded to the soul of the Earth itself, Gaia, she fights for the side of Earth Realm, but that doesn’t mean she’ll help the good guys. Most see her as threat, especially the Elder Gods who have decreed that all Avis (the term for what Jai is to Gaia) are to be killed on sight. Needless to say, Jai and her Wyre followers do not get along with Gods very well.
Once upon a time Jai’eesh was only Jessica Craven, a ‘normal’ (if only a bit strange due to her odd sense of humor) young woman who had just earned a doctorate in Zoology and wanted nothing more than to go on with her research on animal genetics. Ms. Craven had just won a government grant for her work when she found out it was only a lure for the deranged General Ikol to get his hands on her. From there on Jessica Craven ceased to exist as he destroyed her mind in an attempt to get her to change into her Wyre form (that until now she had no clue she was a Wyre), and then performed bizarre experiments to force her under his complete control. Ikol failed in his attempts to either to get her to change or dominate her, but he did succeed in making Jessica a complete catatonic. Thus he dumped her in a cell as a reject. Here trapped within her own shattered mind she hear Gaia’s call, and that’s when she snapped.
After that, not much is known about what went on, but the secret base Ikol had set up for his experiments on Wyres went up in flames and Ikol is considered MIA. From the ‘death’ of Jessica Craven, Jai’eesh was reborn. Jai’eesh is a ghost of what she was, seemingly insane, but if one looks carefully her supposed madness is just a veil to protect what little is left of the original woman. She is a mass of contradictions, like most Wyres she despises humans, but at the same time Jai loves human creations, music and art. Jai is still quite a formidable scientist, as she studies Wyre genetics on her spare time, but she can’t do math or speak other languages worth crap. Technically Jai’eesh is considered a mage, but she cannot compete with sorcerers for extended amounts of time like Quan Chi or Shang Tsung. She relies on quick thinking and degranged tactics to throw off her opponents as many cannot anticipate her unorthodox moves. Trained in Wyre weapons dancing, her preferred weapon is a Japanese Nihon-to (kitana), although she is no perfect fighter. As stated before she usually resorts to trickery and Wyre Shadow techniques to get her through a fight. When pushed too hard, she will transform into her Griffin form, but she has no control as she will go berserk in a fight harming anyone in her path.
Thus Jai’eesh is an odd one, fighting for Earth Realm without actually fighting for Earth Realm. You figure it out… if you can.
Abilities:
Jai'eesh is considered a Shadow or Elemental Mage by her people. Like most Shadows of Gaia, she can control and manipulate shadows around her, using them to teleport or engulf people in them, trapping them. She can also weild all eight universal elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Light, Darkness, Order and Chaos) but that drains her quickly and has repercussion on the Earth itself, so she limits herself there.
Her fighting style is found to be very odd to humans as it looks like she's dancing with a sword instead of actually fighting. Being such lovers of music, it is no surprise that Wyre develped their unique style of Wyre Weapons Dancing and only teach it to other Wyre. Again, she's not the best at it, but she is formidable in her own right.
Her nameless sword itself is a power in and of itself as it has the ability to harm the undead and creatures of the Ethereal (Spirit-Realm). She can also call upon her three bonded Nightmares (if allowed in this game) to assist her at any time, they being Mr. S (feline), Pinto Bean (feline) and Maude (equine).
